If you are looking where to enjoy a nice meal out, then look no further. Here we have listed some of our favorite places to eat. And they are all located in Arugam Bay town. Each restaurant is a different style of cuisine, leaving you plenty of options for lunch or dinner.
The spice trail.
As the name says, here you will send your tastebuds on a whole new adventure down the spice trail.
In Sri Lanka spices are part of everyday food and cooking, so you can be sure to experience some new tastes and flavours on your holidays. We recommend to you this place for its beautiful location and its very well-known sushi selection and ramen bowls, delicious!
Hideaway restaurant.
Hideaway is located right on the main street of Arugam bay, so very easy to find.
The restaurant proposes a mixture of different styles of food, all inspired by Mediterranean cuisine & reflects their brand of world cuisine. Hideaway uses organic ingredients and use home-grown or locally sourced produce whenever possible.
Daily delivery of fresh fish and seafood is prepared under the superb supervision of Sharon and her skilled team of chefs.
Tom & jerry's.
Tom & Jerry’s is a beachfront pearl. This small and cosy restaurant is serving up some of the best burgers in Arugam bay.
It’s the perfect place to chill and grab a bite to eat. Waves crashing on the sand, great food and lovely cushioned beach tables. What more can you ask for? Here you will find different styles of food including a selection f Japanese style cuisine. The service is a little slow but well worth the wait.
Cili.
If you are a lover of Italian food and wood fire Pizza then Cili restaurant is the place to go.
With crispy crusts, dripping cheese, and yummy toppings, here you will find some of the tastiest pizzas in Arugam bay. Prepared with love and fresh ingredients you will not get enough of these cheesy treats. The seating area is relaxing and the prices are reasonable, a great place to come with friends.
Thatha’s tea shop.
Located right in front of the two most famous surf spots in Abay, be sure not to miss out on Thathha’s.
Here you can experience one of the most famous meals of Sri Lanka, the roti. Located behind a wooden shack you will find a beautiful green garden where some of the best breakfasts are served. You can taste some local cuisine along with more Western options too. Avocado toasts, omelettes, sweet or savoury rotis, you are left spoilt for choice.

Right on the sand with a view of the sea and fishermen at work, dig into the freshest seafood in Arugam bay.
